Introduction
Grant Boiler supports the UK’s mission toward Net Zero by providing Energy Efficiency Assessments and access to the ECO4 Grant Scheme. This project focused on building a clean, informative platform that makes the process approachable for everyday homeowners and tenants.
A Truly Magical Experience!
The design made the entire energy assessment and grant process feel easy and accessible — exactly what our users needed. It’s clean, intuitive, and gives us a clear edge in building trust with homeowners.

Challenge
People didn’t know what they qualified for, how to apply, or where to start. The information felt heavy and confusing.
Overwhelming content with no clear guidance
Users unsure about eligibility or next steps
Needed to earn trust quickly and feel “official” but friendly
Lack of visual structure to support a government-backed service


Approach
Build a platform that’s friendly, structured, and built around the user’s journey — not just the service offering.
Simplified complex information into clear, short sections
Designed an educational flow that answers questions early
Focused on building trust with badges, messaging, and soft visuals
Added direct CTAs to help users check eligibility and start the process

Process
Designed with empathy — starting from the user’s mindset: “Can I get help with heating my home?”
Mapped the steps from visit to application
Created content blocks that explain without overwhelming
Designed mobile-first layouts for fast access
Built in visual consistency and clean UI for government credibility
